1.Would you like to hold a classroom Olympics?你想举办个班级奥运会吗？
1.1hold 表示“举办;举行”时,和 give 是同义词,如“举办一场演唱会”可以说 hold a concert,也可以说 give a concert:
They are going to hold/ give a large concert next week.
他们打算下周举行一个大型演唱会。
1.2. hold 的过去式和过去分词是 held,当主语是 concert, meeting,sports meeting 等词时,要用 hold 的被动语态:
The meeting will be held next Monday.
会议将于下周一召开。
1.3常用短语:
①hold sth./sb. back 拦阻;阻挡
②hold on 等待;停住;不要挂断电话
③hold sb./sth. up 举起;抬起;耽搁
④hold a meeting 举行一次会议
⑤hold sth. in 克制,忍住
⑥hold a concert 举办一场演唱会
2.Our class had five different events - jump rope,long jump,sit-ups,push-ups and 'Jump over the Dinosaur'.我们班举行了五种不同的项目——跳绳、跳远、仰卧起坐、俯卧撑以及“跳过恐龙”。
2.1jump rope跳绳。
2.2long jump跳远。
2.3sit-ups仰卧起坐。
2.4push-ups俯卧撑。
2.5jump over(使)跳过。
3.Danny won the race!丹尼赢得了比赛！
3.1race是可数名词：
①（速度的）比赛，赛跑；竞赛，竞争
②（常作races）大赛（指多项目的赛马会、赛狗会等）。
3.2win the race赢得比赛。
4.None of us could catch him!
我们没人追得上他！
4.1none和no one区别
①no one和nobody都表示“没有人”,仅指人,后面不跟of 短语,作主语时谓语用单数形式；
②none表示“没有一个人/物”,可指人也可以指物,后面可跟of短语,作主语时谓语可用单数也可用复数。
No one knows how he managed to get the ticket.没有人知道他是怎样搞到那张票的。
Nobody handed in his/theircomposition(s) yesterday.昨天没有一个人交作文。
None of my friends came to see me that day.那天没有一个朋友来看我。
5.I was only two seconds slower than Danny.我只比丹尼慢了两秒钟。
5.1形容词和副词比较级的用法
①“A...+比较级+than+B”表示“A 比 B.……”。
My bike is more beautiful than hers.我的自行车比她的漂亮。
②可以修饰比较级的词(组)有:much, a lot, far, even, a little, rather,twice, “基数词+times”等。
I'm feeling much better than before.我感觉比以前好多了。
Our room is twice larger than theirs.我们的房间比他们的大两倍。
③“A...+形容词/副词比较级+than any other+单数可数名词+介词短语”表示“A 比同一范围内任何一个人/物都……”。
He did better than any other student in his class in the exam。在这次考试中,他比他的班上任何一个学生都考得好。
④“比较级+and+比较级”表示“越来越……”。
If's getting hotter and hotter.
天气变得越来越热了。
⑤“the+比较级...,the+比较级...”表示“越……,就越……”。
The harder you study, the greater progress you will make.
你学习越努力,你取得的进步就越大。
⑥比较级与否定词连用相当于最高级。
I have never seen a taller tree than this one.我从没见过比这棵树更高的树。
⑦表示“两者之间比较……的一个”时,常用“the+形容词/副词比较级+of the two”结构。
He is the thinner of the two.
他是两个中较瘦的那个。
6.He did his best,but he kept falling off the pizzas!他尽了最大的努力，但是他不停的从披萨上掉下来！
6.1do one's best尽最大努力。
6.2keep doing sth.一直做某事；坚持做某事。
