按照咱们的中文说法“从东边”=“from the east”。
但是这里in the east表示地理位置上的绝对方向，在某个方位。全世界的人看太阳都是在东方升起。
因此正确的说法是：

A在B的范围内。

北京在中国的东部。

（口语中有时可将to the省去）

台湾省位于广东省的东方.
A在B的东边
A在B的东边(侧)，也就是A与B相邻。

重庆在四川东边。
示方位的“偏向”时通常用by
正东偏北：east by north
正南偏西：south by west
正北偏东：north by east
