On May 23rd, Tang Dengjie, Secretary of the Leading Party Members’ Group and Minister of the Ministry of Civil Affairs led a delegation to Dongying City for investigation of the elderly service work. At Yangmiao Community in Dongji Town, Kenli District, Tang Dengjie and his delegation visited the convenience service station, the straw plaited article cooperative and the happiness canteen, during which they made in-depth communication with the community staff to learn more about the conditions in grass-roots governance with Party building as the guidance, elderly services and other aspects, and heard the reports on elderly service system construction and urgent and difficult problem special aid system reform of Dongying City.
Tang Dengjie fully affirmed the elderly service work of Dongying City, and said that good experience and good practice should be promoted and put into practice nationwide. He pointed out that basic elderly services play an important basic role in caring for the elderly, and promoting basic elderly service system construction is an important task to implement the national strategy of actively coping with the aging of the population and realize the aim of equalization of the basic public services. He put forward the following requirements: accelerate the construction of a basic elderly service system, promote the standardization of elderly services, foster and develop elderly service market and industry, and constantly improve the sense of gain, happiness and security of the elderly; continue to promote standardized development of elderly services, improve the list of basic elderly services, establish a precise service and proactive response mechanism, and strengthen safety supervision to ensure comfort of the elderly; promote sound development of the intelligent elderly service industry, focus on the characteristics and needs of the elderly, accelerate the implementation of age-appropriate transformation, realize digital care and protection, and constantly improve the technological and intelligent level of elderly services.
